ARES 7.7 SP2 Manual route problem

Post by david.harrison »

When routing manually, instead of routing a net all the way from one end to the other end, it is most often more convenient to route part way from one end of the trace, then route from the other end and cross the two traces over each other. In previous versions, the two traces would merge at the crossover point completing the net on that trace. It would then be a simple matter to select and delete the two tails that remain after the crossover. That avoids having to precisely align the two traces when approaching the crossover point.

This no longer works in the latest version of ARES and this is now a real pain to route manually.

Please can you get this fixed ASAP. This is a high priority for us. Thanks.
